Free Motion Mavericks - Week 56 - The Grand Draw

The Grand Draw took place this week, in the kitchen next to the sink.  In the interests of transparency, all the names were put into a pyrex dish.

Farve did the honours.  Being in the kitchen threw him somewhat, he thought he should be baking and he went straight into Mary Berry mode (my compatriots know what I'm on about, apologies to everyone who doesn't) keeping me on hooks waiting for the winner, who turned out to be...

... Angie!

Angie chose the second landscape that I finished, and has given it the title Heading Home.  The ducks have already started their long flight to California.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and also to everyone who has linked up to Free Motion Mavericks during its first year.  I hope you have all enjoyed taking part as much as I have enjoyed being hostess!

So what have I quilted this week?  Absolutely nothing, but I know there are people out there who have been doing marvellous things...

...so here goes for week 56...

Many thanks to JanineMarie, Linda, Gina, Heulwen, Andree, Gwyned and Dena for linking up last week to show their free motion quilting projects.

If you love free motion quilting, whether you are a beginner just taking the plunge, or you have reached the stage where you can do ostrich feathers with your eyes shut and still achieve perfect symmetry, then please link up.

Remember, FMQ is FMQ, whether your machine was made last week, or it is older than your granny.

Here are the very easy and slightly elastic rules:-

1.  Link up with any recent post, ideally from the last week but within the last month, which features a free motion quilting project, whether it is a work in progress or a finish.

2.  Link back to this post in your own post and/or grab the linky button for your blog's sidebar.

3.  Visit as many of the other participants as possible and say hello in the comments box.

4.  The link up will remain open for four days, from midnight to midnight GMT for the long weekend, Friday to Monday.

So far quilters from the USA, England, Wales, Australia, Canada, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, France and Macau have taken part.  The first participant from each new country will get a special mention the following week.

Linking up with Sarah's blog Confessions of a Fabric Addict for Whoop Whoop Friday
and, to give her a laugh, Angie's blog A Quilting Reader's Garden for WIPs Be Gone.

  1. Well done Angie. No quilting link up from me this week as I haven't been near my sewing room. Hopefully next week
