Ejecting the Shuttle

Some machines have a little tab or button to press to make the shuttle pop up out of the shuttle carriage.  Make sure the shuttle is as far forward as possible... the tab, and up it pops, just enough to enable you to take it out of the machine without putting any pressure on the tension spring.

These photographs are of a Singer.

  1. Hi, Muv--Thanks for contacting me. This is a nice blog. I'm so glad you shared it with me. Did you know you are a no-reply blogger? That means no one can contact you via email. If you would like to find out how to change that, check out this post:

  2. Thank you Barbara - I'm not a no-reply blogger any more! Muv

  3. Hi Muv- I'm very excited to have found your blog. Some friends of mine found a Singer 128 in an antique shop and brought it back for me! Your videos on how to clean and oil the machine are terrific. I can't wait to get started and I look forward to reading more of your posts.
