Free Motion Mavericks - Week 103 - A Pile of Sandwiches
Exceptionally dull photo, I know. The Secret Project is now nearing six finished sandwiches, and I'm beginning to get a bit bored and afraid it might just send me one sandwich short of a picnic. I need an interim project - that dress I have been promising my daughter, perhaps, but having only been home for a few days I'm not yet back into the sewing groove.
Here goes for week 103...
Remember, FMQ is FMQ, whether your machine was made last week, or it is older than your granny.
Here are the very easy and slightly elastic rules:-
1. Link up with any recent post, ideally from the last week but within the last month, which features a free motion quilting project, whether it is a work in progress or a finish.
2. Link back to this post in your own post and/or grab the linky button for your blog's sidebar.
3. Visit as many of the other participants as possible and say hello in the comments box.
4. The link up will remain open for four days, from midnight to midnight GMT for the long weekend, Friday to Monday.
So far quilters from the USA, England, Wales, Australia, Canada, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, France, Macau, Russia and Ireland have taken part. The first participant from each new country will get a special mention the following week.

A Picture for Sunday - Thistle in the Wind
Wonderful colours in the evening sun. The purple of the thistle against a backdrop of ripening oats really caught my eye.

Free Motion Mavericks - Week 102 - Slow Progress
Only a little bit of sewing to show this week... firstly, because I am working on a Secret Project, I can't show much, but more to the point, I have been a poorly old crock. My daughter and I arrived home from Spain the Sunday before last, and I was full of enthusiasm, thinking I would get loads of sewing and gardening done. Instead I spent a week closely attached to my pillow and didn't start returning to normal until after three trips to the dentist's. Enough said. That is why last week's Free Motion Mavericks just didn't happen.
Anyway, today I did a spot of piecing, using the 1916 Singer 99K, which is my straight stitch machine for this project...
... and in the past few days I have used the rudbeckia design
... and I have recycled this pattern of invented plants too.
So I can report steady progress, because I am now working on the sixth of eleven panels. Hooray.
Next week my husband and I are going to Ireland, so this week's linky will be the last until 25th August.
Here goes for week 102... only a week later than promised...
