One of my favourite walks is impassable at the moment. Just over four months ago the way was blocked by snowdrifts. Now, after nearly two months of hot weather and virtually no rain, the crop of rapeseed is a dry woody tangle and the path through it is overgrown. Here is the same field at the same time of year in 2014. A mini monsoon would be a pleasant change.
